Abstract

The scale and constraints of postal operations, particularly in cities are surveyed.Pickup and airport delivery tend to occur in peak hours and entail delays in moving mail to post offices and intercity carriers; movement from airports tended occur during off peak hours. Post office plans relating to environmental effects and special bulk mail centres are described.
