Abstract

The author deals problems of gateway cities in light of plans to construct by 1982 a St. Louis area freight and passenger terminal whose hub is a new airport and whose spokes are intermodal links by rail, truck, pipeline and barge. Studies underway relate to airport location, highway corridors, rapid transit and rail yard relocation.
