Abstract

Detailed and reliable measurements of the following behaviour of vehicle drivers in traffic cannot be obtained because suitable apparatus is not available. Only the Doppler radar seems to give the best results. It is stated that traffic flow investigations will have to make to do with recording and analysing least detailed data than the accelerations and decelerations of individual vehicles.
