Abstract

This conference contains papers on injuries suffered in vehicle accidents and studies on the tolerance of the human body to impact. Subjects covered include vehicle design for pedestrian protection; the use of simulation modelling of the human body or parts of the body for estimation of impact injuries; developments in the technology of anthropometric dummies to make them genuinely comparable to the human body; evaluation of real-world accident data for improvement in vehicle design and analysis of accident injuries and fatalities; the cause and process of whiplash injury; and the response of the human body to impact. For abstracts of some of the papers see C 29726 - C 29762 (ITRD E121181 - E121217).
