Abstract

Research and other evidence concerning legislation making the use of seat belt mandatory, is reviewed. It is concluded that the evidence shows that the wearing of 3-point seat belts is the most effective measure so far developed in the search for protection against injury in all types of traffic accidents. For the separate papers see B 13801 – B 13843.
