Abstract
Austroads held the first international forum on road safety audit in Melbourne in may 1998. This brought together 189 practitioners from fourteen countries to share experiences. The information and discussions at that forum have provided a valuable input to the revised audit guidelines and will ensure that the new edition continues to provide information that transcends hemispheres.
