Abstract

Compliance enforcement is essential to a regulatory agency. A compliance test must be on a base of trouble indication, critically of standards involved, and special attention must be given to examination of manufacturers certification data and quality control. Greater emphasis on the compliance program is recommended, but does not favour greater legal penalties. The present compliance testing programs are proceeding and their results are a real factor in maintaining surveillance over the large automotive industry.
