Abstract

This volume consists of the paper presented at the symposium together with discussions of these papers which occurred during the course of symposium. In particular, the papers discuss networks of queues, priority queuing systems, heavy traffic approximations, road traffic theory, and the application of combinatorial methods to queuing theory. This volume contains results which will be of interest to those who are actively engaged in the application of congestion theory to practical problems, to those who are involved in making further developments in congestion theory, and to those who teach courses in operations research.
