Abstract

This report lays the groundwork for an effort to develop a framework for a National Program for Education and Training for Maintenance Engineers/Managers -- one that will enhance careers in Maintenance Engineering/Management. As developed in this study, the "Framework for Education and Training of Maintenance Engineers/Managers" will provide improvement in two ways: (1) Enhanced educational opportunities and well-rounded training for existing maintenance managers; and (2) Educational exposure opportunities as well as improved training to attract young people into the maintenance profession. To meet the objectives of this project, the follow-up to program development is monitoring and implementation. Steps for implementation are recommended. (A)
