Abstract

In terms of the introduction and use of transport telematics, Germany has chosen an approach that very much relies on telematics services provided by the private sector. For this purpose, close public-private cooperation is required. The Economic Forum on Transport Telematics as a model of public-private partnership in Germany has proved to be successful. By now, important outline conditions for private telematics services have been created. The first service providers have entered the market. Further activities will focus on establishing intermodal telematics services. (A)
