Abstract
The total noise emitted by a standard city bus and the noise emitted by the various noise sources are measured under various conditions (relating to velocity, engine speed and load). The total noise emission is determined under all conditions by the engine speed and engine load. Noise emission levels from the cylinder block, exhaust noise, intake noise and radiated silencer noise are also measured.
