Abstract

This report contains the findings of the Project Definition Phase of a study investigate the requirements for a National Traffic Safety Data Center in support of a National Traffic Safety Program. In particular, it considers the problems of data needs, access permission, data content, jurisdiction, location, timeliness, maintenance, purging, hardware/software configuration, staffing, flexibility and predictions associated with defining the need for a Data Center, and their implications for its development.
