Abstract

The United State has no national system for collecting traffic accident data. Sufficient data of the requisite precision and representativeness could be economically collected by 30 skilled investigative teams operating in 30 carefully defined zones of the U.S. Such a data collection system cost about 6 million dollar a year. The sconer it is put into effect, the better it will be.
