Abstract

The operation of a system that has been designed for the collection and recording of traffic volume data from continuous counting stations is described. Once the data have been recorded on a punch tape, the tape can be used with a computer to investigate trends in traffic growth, time distribution of traffic flows and the preparation of flow maps.
