Abstract

In the U.K. about 2400 children under the age of 13 years are killed or seriously injured each year in cars and a further 7000 are slightly injured. The TRRL is carrying out two different investigations into accidents involving child car occupants. The number of case studies to date is not large enough for a complete statistical analysis but certain tentative conclusions can be drawn.
