Abstract

The injury situation of restrained and unrestrained children is dealt with in this paper, documented by accident material from the German Automobile Insurers (HUK-Verband) which gives evidence for the effectiveness of child restraint systems (CRCs). A report is also given on the results of sled tests with carry-cots restrained by belts which were carried out by the BASt (Federal Highway Research Institute).
