Abstract
This british standard applies to helmets for wear by riders, drivers and passengers of motor vehicles, including participants in competitive motor cycle events. It does not cover visors, goggles, detachable peaks and detachable face covers. Requirements and the corresponding methods of test are given for: (a) areas to be protected; (b) shock absorption properties of the complete helmet assembly; (c) penetration resistance; (d) strength of the retention system.
