Abstract

The friction needs for different speeds and the relationship of speed to skid resistance is discussed. A graph is used to illustrate the relationship of the skid resistance qualities of aggregate to accumulated traffic volume, and pavement surface and skid data are used to demonstrate how accumulated traffic and vehicle speed affect skid number.
