Abstract

For a relatively modest percentage increase in the capital cost, Metro has been built to accomodate a wide range of disabled passengers, although in some cases with considerable constructions at stations. Good design has enabled facilities for the majority of passengers to be of benefit for the ambulatory handicapped and disabled; while special facilities for wheelchair users have been of an advantage to others.
