Abstract

Facts and theories with regard to radial motion are discussed on the basis of the classical distinction between innate and learned functions. It is pointed out that a multiple systems theory based on both proximal and cognitive factors is required, if obtained data are to be explained. In this context a more general problem of radial motion is formulated and the role of potentially effective factors is described.
