Abstract

In the experimental part of this investigation 43 sled tests simulating fronted impacts with double seats of coaches and transit bases were conducted. The backrest of the seat ahead has been impacted by anthropometrics test dummies and developed reduced mess systems from behind. The deformation of the backrest frame was taken as a measure for the energy absorption capacity with regard to occupant injury prevention.
