Abstract

The influence of psychoactive drugs on driving aptitude is possible in three different ways, viz.: direct influence because of fatigue and sleepiness, changes in personality either because of acute and chronic intoxication or because of abstemious symptoms by drug addiction, and enhancement of the effect of alcohol. The importance is stressed of informing patients about the secondary effects. Only realistic advice about behavioral limits of any use.
