Abstract

The scope, the method and objective of the Boston Transportation Planning Review (BTPR) are outlined. The Review gave priority to the integration of expressway planning with planning for arterial and local streets, parking and public transportation; the integration of transportation planning itself with planning for housing neighbourhood amenity, environmental protection and economic development; and the maximum participation by local governments and the public in planning process.
