Abstract

TRB’s Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, No. 2184 contains six graduate research award papers that examine using online data to explore competitive airline pricing policies, a hybrid system model of air traffic controller cognition, the impact of congestion at major airports, external airport risk exposure in the vicinity of nontowered airports, nonfiscal barriers to airport development, and the Pilot Reliability Certification program. The Graduate Research Award Program in Public-Sector Aviation Issues is managed by TRB’s Airport Cooperative Research Program and sponsored by the Federal Aviation Administration. The program is designed to encourage applied research on airport and related aviation system issues and to foster the next generation of aviation community leaders. (Author/publisher)
