Abstract

The underlying question of the paper is if public transport policy should be considered as a part of the general traffic safety policy. The question is relevant if substituting car trips by bus trips in an urban area changes the overall safety situation. While data of most traffic surveys and research on this subject are older than 20 years, a new model is set up to obtain new data. A model of the transport system and the urban structure of Copenhagen is used here.
