Abstract

The paper reports on the VITMOS project, which aim is to develop and implement infrastructure for tracking of moving objects with the means of the wireless telecommunication networks. Tracking of the cargo vehicles is an application to be prototyped. Prototyped system has a hierarchical structure: public server provides generalized public data gathered from a number of private tracking servers installed on the cargo transportation companies. Public data includes road network usage statistics, documents related to transportation regulations, etc. In this way the private track data is kept in the company and only annual aggregated data is provided to the public server. For the covering abstract see E134653.
