Abstract

The authors discuss the research work done for the city of Lafayette, Indiana, where some 14 alternate systems were evaluated to establish priorities for public transportation. Many extra measures were taken during the transit planning study to keep the public and public officials adequately involved in all phases of the work. This led to an effective utilization of the research results and recommendations.
