Abstract

A public lighting checking device has been worked out to be able to measure continuously the illuminance, on one lane of the road surface. It is mounted on a car and can work between 0 and 72 km/h (0-20m/s). Luminance measurements can complete the survey. Datas are collected on digital cassette tapes and are processed on a microcomputer. An automatic partition is done with a statistical program and results (mean and uniformity) are edited on graphics.
