Abstract

A number of different queue warning systems have been developed and tested in order to improve traffic safety. The evaluation of operational experience, functional analyses and accident development help to formulate quality re- requirements for queue warning systems.Cost- benefit considerations are necessary even in the design phase. The "standard" of a queue warning system must be seen together with the attainable benefits.
