Abstract

Methods used to obtain qualitative indexes of the effect of impact on the human body are discussed. These methods involve the impact testing of cadavers, animals and anthropometric dummies. Three sets of quantitative correlations are proposed: 1) Crash severity scale; 2) Vulnerability scale of the human body and 3) Injury index.
