Abstract

Harshness,a typical transient interdisciplinary phenomenon of noise and vibration, and shake, another non-stationary vehicle vibration, which have a predominant influence on subjective ride comfort are reviewed from the viewpoint of a man-machine system and a quantitative scale, and effects of suspension and tire performance are components, especially tires are described.
