Queensland experience of compulsory wearing of seat belts

Abstract

The paper reports on a research project to study effects, if any, of the compulsory seat belt legislation upon the incidence and severity of traffic injury on a before and after basis. A study was made of injury cases or fatalities admitted to hospitals in metropolitan Brisbane and also of collected statistics of traffic injuries.
