Abstract

TRB’s Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, No. 2117 includes 12 papers that explore revenue strategy of railway passenger transport, increasing rail demand by improving multimodal information and ticketing, the impact of delays on passenger train services, regional locomotive emission modeling, and a railway capacity evaluation tool. This issue of the TRR also examines the impact of train type heterogeneity on single-track railway capacity, spectral analysis of ground acceleration-based testing, railroad asphalt trackbed performance, a railway track maintenance management model, noncontact ultrasonic guided wave detection of rail defects, epoxy debonding in bonded insulated rail joints, and fouled railroad ballast behavior.
