Abstract

Various studies and installations of revised markers as safety devices are discussed. The comprehensive study of reflectorized markers conducted by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) is described. Program involved the installation of 650.000 markers at 4000 hazardous locations. ODOT reports that a year following the installations accidents have dropped 38% in bad weather and 22% overall.
