Abstract

Steel road safety barrier made by the Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management. The plans and parts list for the test unit are presented in Appendices A and B respectively the Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management is solely and fully responsible for ensuring that the test unit installed and tested complies with the documents provided. The material was supplied on 13rd May 2002, and the test took place on May 21". Test Requirements: Test of a steel road safety barrier, as acceptance test TB51 in compliance with European standards EN 1317-1 and 2. The test took place in zone 4, with barrier setup on a concrete beam/ cornice 96.00 m long, 1.00 wide and 1.20 m deep. The uneven of the cornice between the plan surface of road is 120 mm. Posts on plate were anchored on the cornice (see layout plan in Appendix C). The overall length of the device was 80.0 m. The upstream end of the device was connected to a double sided safety barrier, lowered and buried on soil. This barrier was connected with the half barrier by a 3.20 m long connecting module. The installation height at the point of impact was 0.90 m. (Author/publisher)
