Abstract

This article summarizes the approaches used for city logistics development and regulation in the central area of Bologna. In the framework of the General Urban Traffic Plan of the city, specific actions and plans have been defined in order to improve the efficiency of the urban goods distribution system and to reduce the traffic externalities. IT solutions have been studied, designed and implemented as a major tool for developing common and co-operative strategies involving public and private bodies. (A)
