Abstract

The feasibility of developing an interactive real- time intersection simulation and graphics display system is studied. Simulation can be used to generate traffic flow patterns and measurements of the network performance, and a graphical display used to convey information about the behaviour of the network in a meaningful understandable way. Operating interactively and in real- time can allow the user to make changes in the parameters defining the network and immediately observe the results.
