Abstract

The use of high intensity warning lamps, fitted to the rear of vehicles, might provide a form of protection against rear-end collisions in fog and other conditions of poor visibility. An investigation was done to provide essential data on which to base recommendations for modifications of existing or proposed legislation for these warning devices and their usage.
