Abstract

In this paper, a Hazard Perception Training Package, used by the BSM Schools of Motoring, is described. The aim is to help prepare learner drivers for the Hazard Perception Test (HPT); improve their chances of passing the Practical Test; and reduce the likelihood of accident involvement within the first 2 years of passing the driving test. The BSM Hazard Perception Training Package consists of On-Road Tuition in Hazard Perception; In-Centre PC-based Assessments; In-Centre PC-based Mock Tests; Retail Video on Hazard Perception; CD Rom of assessments, mock test, video and theory test questions; and MAP-Mind Alertness Programme.
