Abstract
Recent developments in steels for automobile in Japan and the applications of these steels in the automotive industry are reviewed. The following items are discussed; hot- and cold- rolled steel sheets including high strength steel sheets, vibration damping steel sheets, laminated steel sheets, various coated steel sheets and structural specialty steels such as free cutting steel and wire rods for suspension spring.
