Abstract

This report presents the findings of a research project to evaluate procedures for (1) estimating the design life of metal-tensioned systems in new geotechnical installations and (2) determining the condition and remaining service life of systems already in place. It presents a recommended practice for assessing the present condition and remaining service life of metal-tensioned systems with nondestructive testing techniques and an appropriate prediction model.
