Abstract

In connection with new planning directives for urban roads in Finland, the effects of road reconstructions in a small Finnish town were studied by using the TCT. Several different substudies and some preliminary results dealing with speeds, the use of marked pedestrian crossings, the comfort of unprotected road users, traffic safety and the problems of shops and offices are described and discussed.
