Abstract
Results are given of a survey which was carried out in three areas in the Netherlands where various aspects of recreational horse-riding were studied. A number of trip purposes can be distinguished together with various modes of transport between homes, stables and riding area. The author suggests several means to improve road safety for rider, horse and other traffic.
