Abstract

Reducing heavy vehicle emissions is important in reducing the negative impacts of vehicle exhaust on public health and the environment, and is necessary for meeting forthcoming vehicle emissions standards and greenhouse gas targets. This work reviews policies for reducing emissions from heavy-duty vehicles around the world including criteria pollutant standards, fueleconomy regulations, carbon capping and taxing, and road user charging.
