This briefing paper gives an overview of the road safety level in the EU presenting existing data and the profile of those involved in work related road traffic deaths in the EU. It gives an idea of the key risks facing those driving for work and how to counter them. It also aims to give an overview of the past and possible future activity to improve work related road safety at a European, national and employer level with recommendations for future work. It draws on existing reports prepared by the ERSO, EU OSHA, European Commission NIOSH and ETSC’s PRAISE project. (Author/publisher)
