Abstract

This paper presents a reference architecture for an AHS (Automatic Highway System) and a classification of AHS technologies. The architecture has the following layers: Functional, Form, Physical, and Carrier. The architecture has been used to develop a hierarchical classification using rank-directed Group Technology (GT). Thus information about AHS configurations is suitable for computational analysis, including risk assessment, maintainability, reliability, and operational analysis. (A)
