Abstract

An allocation model is developed for estimating the consequences of the planning of land use, housing and roads on the distribution of households by age and income, and the distribution of working-places over the geographical space of a city region. The authors argue that the preferences of households for 'living situations'should be measured with surveys and these preferences can then be used to calculate the demand for housing in sub-areas of the region.
