Regional ITS architecture and metropolitan ITS planning in China.

Abstract

Based on the ITS Development Strategy issued by the Chinese government, as well as supported by the leading institutions for ITS construction and coordination in the four metropolises, i.e. Jinan, Qingdao, Shenzhen and Guangzhou, the National Intelligent Transport System Center of Technology and Engineering, which are associated with related scientific institutions in China, has established the Regional ITS Architecture and Metropolitan ITS Planning for these four metropolises respectively. The background, main content and outcome of this research are introduced here in this article, as well as our comment on the regional ITS architecture and metropolitan ITS planning.
