Regression and correlation methods in highway maintenance operations.

Abstract

Regression and correlation analysis is explained with a minimum of theory, and its use is illustrated in a simple linear bivariate example. A regression relation is established between highway maintenance expenditures and gasoline consumption. A coefficient of correlation is determined and tested for significance.
