Abstract

Within the general framework of a traffic plan, it is no longer possible to deal with traffic control problems only at the intersection or the thoroughfare. It is necessary to consider the coordination of lights on a complete network through a centralized control point. The means used are, as for the thoroughfare, computer programs (Dedale, Thesee,) and even more complex strategies, taking the situation into account to a greater or lesser extent in real time.
